1959

OEP starts motor operations in Crema, Italy.

1965

Ciaramella, a small company founded in Milan in 1958, moves from lamination production into motor operations, relocating to Robecco Sul Naviglio, MI, Italy.

1976

EMC starts motor operations in Ripalta Cremasca, Italy.

1977

The former motor operations of Olivetti Spa begin independent operation using the MAE name.

1990

OEP and Ciaramella merge in 1987 into one company Three years later, that company is acquired by AMETEK. EMC, another business, also acquired by AMETEK.

AMETEK Italia S.r.l. is founded in 1990, with three operational sites in Italy.

1994

AMETEK Italia S.r.l. acquires the German motor manufacturer EMS.

1997

AMETEK Italia S.r.l. opens a new plant in Nachod, CZ, and forms AMETEK electromotory s.r.o.

1999

AMETEK opens a new plant in Indaiatuba, Brasil, and forms AMETEK Do Brasil Ltda.

2005

AMETEK Italia S.r.l. acquires the Italian motor companies EDD and SIX. AMETEK, Inc. acquires Pittman, which owns MAE in Italy.

2015

AMETEK Italia S.r.l. opens a new plant in Subotica, Serbia.

2016

AMETEK merges its Floorcare and Speciality Motor (FSM) and Precision Motion Control (PMC) divisions, forming AMETEK Advanced Motion Solutions (AMS).

MAE is one of the four business units of AMS, managing all former FSM activities in Europe and Brazil.
